David and Samantha – A wedding love story

Samntha & David – A Wedding Love Story in Windsor, Ontario

The wedding of Samantha and David was a big, fun-filled day which brought us out to the soccer field for the first time!

In the morning, we joined David and his groomsmen getting ready at his home. The guys put on their sharp grey suits and shared a toast. At the bride’s house, the place was filling up fast with family and guests! Samantha put on her wedding dress, then had her bridesmaids each sign her shoes. There were some family pictures, before we all headed off to the church.

The ceremony was held at St. Angela Merici in Little Italy. There, Samantha walked up the aisle to meet David at the altar. Our couple exchanged rings and vows and officially became husband and wife!

For the creative session, we joined along with their photographer Petar Lukic. Sam and Dave are avid soccer players, so we made our way out to a nearby field to get some footage. We also stopped by at Ojibway Park and an interesting little dock along the Detroit River.

The reception was held at the Ciociaro Club of Windsor. The hall was beautifully done for the 350+ guests. The bridal party made their entrance to a boisterious applause to begin the night. We listened to touching speeches from the bride and groom, and joined the party as the crowd danced the night away.

Thank you Samantha and David for having us along on your wedding day! It was a pleasure being a part of your love story. We hope you love all that we’ve captured for you!

Melissa and Robert- A Wedding Love Story in Leamington, Ontario

This summer we had the pleasure of being part of the wedding of Melissa and Robert. It was a beautiful day and a BIG celebration that took place in Leamington, just outside of Windsor Ontario.

The morning of the big day, we made our way out to Robert’s, where he and the groomsmen were getting ready. The guys were enjoying some breakfast and beers as they got dressed in their tuxes. We took Robert aside as he got dressed, and then he opened up and read a special note from his bride to be. It was an emotional letter… and you’ll see we included much of it in the video.

We then made our way over to meet Melissa and her bridesmaids. The house was busy with activity, as hair and makeup was being done. Melissa put on her white dress and also opened up her note from Robert. The bridesmaids all signed Melissa’s bridal shoes with blue pen… and they were off to the church!

The ceremony was held at St. Michael’s Church in Leamington. One of the highlights was definitely capturing Robert’s reaction to seeing Melissa come down the aisle. They both approached the altar, and exchanged vows and rings. Melissa and Robert were now husband and wife!

For the creative shoot, we ventured through the county finding a couple unique spots. Surrounded by nature, we worked alongside Ahmad A. Taam from Signature Design and Photography. Amazing light and some beautiful backdrops made for a terrific creative shoot.

The reception was held at the Leamington Portuguese Club. A big crowd of 400 friends and family was on hand to celebrate with the newly weds. There was touching speeches, a delicious meal and plenty of dancing into the night.

Melissa and Robert… we hope you love your videos! Thank you for having us along on your beautiful wedding day!

Toronto Wedding Videography | Lillian and Edward

Lillian & Edward | A Toronto, Ontario Wedding Love Story at Westin Prince Hotel

Lillian & Edward – A Wedding Love Story in Toronto, Ontario

This summer we made our way up to Toronto to film the wedding of Ed and Lillian. It was one year ago that we had recorded this surprise engagement video for the couple:

And now, it was time for the main event!

The day before the wedding, we gathered up the gear and made our way up the 401 to Toronto. We stayed the weekend at the Westin Prince Toronto Hotel, where all the festivities would be taking place. A good night’s sleep was a must, as we had a busy wedding day ahead of us!

First thing in the morning, we joined Ed and the groomsmen getting ready at his condo. The guys got suited up and Ed opened up a gift from Lillian. We also took a little time to film a funny short video segment for a same day edit we were going to show at the reception.

We then made our way back to the Westin Prince Hotel to join the girls in their preparations. Lillian put on her traditional Chinese dress for the morning’s cultural events, as the bridesmaids got ready. When the bridal party was looking their best… it was time for the guys to arrive. In order for the guys to enter and “fetch the bride”, the bridesmaids planned a series of challenging and hilarious “door games” for the guys to complete. The groomsmen did push-ups, ate some creative concoctions and acted out a funny movie scene. Once the bridesmaids were happy with their performance, Ed was allowed to see his bride to be!
Next, the families of the couple gathered in the hotel suite for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Ed and Lillian poured tea for their relatives, while gifts and blessings were offered in return. Lillian then got changed into her white wedding dress, in preparation for the Western ceremony as Ed and the groomsmen welcomed the arriving guests.

With their friends and family in attendance, Ed and Lillian stood together at the altar. They exchanged some beautiful, heartfelt personalized wedding vows and presented each other with the wedding bands. Ed and Lillian sealed their vows with a kiss and officially became husband and wife!

For the creative session, we followed along with their photographer Brandon Scott to Toronto’s Distillery District. The location was new to us, and we had an awesome time discovering the historic area. It was busy with people, but we made the best of the beautiful, old brick walls and historic architecture.

For the reception, we made our way back to the Westin Prince ballroom. The hall looked elegant and had treats for the guests such as the sweets table and our very own Perfect Shutter photo booth. The mood of the evening was lighthearted, with dance entrances by the bridal party and some hilarious and messy games. Meanwhile, the speeches were heartfelt and touching, and you’ll see we included a lot of the speeches in the video! The guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and danced the night away, in celebration of the newlywed couple!

Thank you Ed and Lillian for having us along on your wedding day. We’ve been honoured to capture such important moments in your lives. We hope that you love your videos!

Anita & Roy – A Wedding Love Story in Windsor, Ontario

Anita and Roy were married this summer in a luxurious and elegantly styled wedding. This sweet and stylish couple planned a beautiful wedding that was nothing short of a fairytale!

We first joined Roy getting ready with his groomsmen and family. Our groom got dressed, putting on his tuxedo with a classic cummerbund. Roy then finished off the look with a new Rolex, courtesy of his bride-to-be. We then made our way over to Anita’s where she and the girls were getting ready. Anita slipped into her stunning wedding dress and topped it off with an incredible pair of Sergio Rossi shoes. After opening up a gift from Roy and reading an emotional note… Anita was ready to head to the church.

The ceremony was held at St Anne’s Parish in Tecumseh, Ontario. There, Anita and Roy said their “I Do’s” and became the new husband and wife!

We then joined with their photographer, Eryn Shea for the creative session. We did some shooting with the beautiful classic car they had reserved for transportation and toured around Willistead Park.

The reception was held at a beautifully decorated Ciociaro Club. Anita and Roy took centre stage with an amazing head table set-up. After dinner, the crowd was entertained by two belly dancers. Everyone then joined them on the dance floor and danced the night away.

Congratulations Roy and Anita! It was a pleasure being part of your big day. We hope you love your videos!

A stylish, vintage inspired wedding at Hellenic Hall in Windsor, Ontario

Stacey and Michael are a super-stylish couple from Windsor, Ontario. Their taste in music, fashion and their sense of style really shone through in the various details of their wedding day.

The weather was perfect, as we packed up and prepared to spend the day with Stacey and Michael. Brian spent the morning with the groom and the guys while I headed over to film Stacey and the bridesmaids. Stacey and the girls were getting ready at the couples’ newly purchased house. The purple living room wall and beautiful window light made for some terrific footage of the bride.

Their traditional Greek ceremony was held at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Windsor, Ontario. Afterward, we followed along with wedding photographer Eryn Shea and the couple, to Willistead Manor for a creative photo shoot.

We then headed over to the Hellenic Banquet Hall to spend the evening celebrating with Stacey, Michael and all their friends and family. There, we enjoyed a terrific dinner and got a little nostalgic over some classic 80’s tunes!

Thanks for having us along on your wedding day, Stacey and Michael! We hope that you love your videos!

Allison &Brian | A Windsor, Ontario wedding film

This particular wedding holds a great deal of special personal meaning to me

I’ve known Brian and Allison for many years. We’re all originally from Windsor, Ontario and we went to the same high school together. During our days attending Vincent Massey Secondary School, I saw these two meet and witnessed their relationship grow. So when they contacted me about filming their wedding, I knew it’d be a special experience.

Allison and Brian now live out of town, so preparations were done at their respective parents’ homes. Brian Hansen filmed Allison and the girls, and I headed out to spend the morning with Brian and the guys. After getting ready, the guys went out for a little road hockey and a game of pool.

The beautiful ceremony took place at the historic Mackenzie Hall in Sandwich town. There, Brian and Allison exchanged some very sweet, personal vows and officially began a new chapter of their lives.

After the ceremony, we followed along with their photographer Tracie, from Focal Point Photography for a creative photo session. We toured around the grounds of Mackenzie Hall and took a trip down to the parks along the Detroit River. (On a side note… if you’re from the Detroit area or southeastern Michigan, you must come over to Windsor to take in the beautiful skyline of Detroit from Windsor’s perspective!) The girls braved the November cold, and we caught some beautiful footage!

The reception was held at a beautifully decorated Ciociaro Club. Guests dined, danced and enjoyed the Perfect Shutter Photo Booth. For me, it was a great time seeing some familiar faces from high school, too. It was really a special, personal experience being a part of the wedding day of a couple of old friends.

Allison and Brian, thanks so much for having us along on the most important day of your lives. It really was an honour and a pleasure being part of it all. Wishing you all the love and happiness in life…

Daniela & Joe | A Fusion Wedding Film at the Rockway Glen Golf Course and Estate Winery

October 10th, 2010

Introducing this special “Fusion” wedding film

…featuring Daniela and Joe. They’re a terrific couple originally from the Niagara region. We were introduced to Daniela and Joe by their photographer Jayme Morrison. Jayme’s a close friend of ours, and by incorporating her amazing imagery with our cinematography, we’ve put together this unique Fusion Wedding Film.

On the day of the wedding, we packed up our gear and hit the 401 on our way to Stoney Creek, Ontario. Brian and I split up to film the girls at Daniela’s home, and the guys at Joe’s place nearby.  We then took a beautiful, scenic drive out to Lincoln, Ontario for the ceremony and reception being held at held at Rockway Glen Golf Course and Estate Winery. Driving through the winding, tree-lined roads of the Niagara Region was simply beautiful. Daniela and Joe exchanged heartwarming vows in an intimate outdoor ceremony.

After the ceremony, we followed along with Jayme and the couple for a creative photo session. The sun was just setting on the winery, making for some perfect photos and video.  We then shared the evening with all their family and friends at the reception, where there was lots of dancing, food and even some singing guests!

Daniela and Joe… it was a pleasure meeting you two, and spending your big day with you.  We had a blast celebrating with you in beautiful Niagara.  We hope that you love how we’ve captured your day!

Denise & Jeremy | Windsor Wedding Videography | Inspired by Ann Arbor wedding

Denise & Jeremy | A Windsor Wedding Film | Inspired by Ann Arbor and University of Michigan

September 11th, 2010

Our latest Wedding Highlight Reel features Denise and Jeremy, who exchanged vows in the town of Amherstburg, Ontario.

You may actually recognize Jeremy from one of our previous videos; the Windsor wedding of Jen and Adam. Jeremy was one of Adam’s groomsmen, back in July. Now, the roles are switched and it’s Jeremy’s turn to wed the love of his life, Denise.

In the morning, we captured the bridal party preparations and the couple’s gift exchange. We then boarded the limo bus to attend the ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church in Amherstburg, ON. Afterward, we followed along with photographer Julie Welch-Rhodes , to a number of locations across town. Their creative photo-session involved trips to their old high-school, Navy Yard Park and even a couple plays on the football gridiron. Everybody then headed to the Fogular Furlan Club in Windsor to celebrate with Denise and Jeremy, and dance the night away.

Being big Michigan Wolverines fans, unfortunately we couldn’t make it out to Ann Arbor for the wedding. Instead, hints of their Michigan football passion were sprinkled throughout the day — Go Blue! –, Denise and Jeremy’s wedding was a light-hearted, fun and loving occasion. Thanks so much for choosing Perfect Shutter! We wish you all the best, and hope that you love your videos.

Sonia & Steven | A Leamington, Ontario wedding film at the Roma Club

August 21st, 2010

A little bit of rain couldn’t put a damper on the beautiful wedding day of Sonia and Steven. So, on August 21st, we packed up the filming gear and headed to the town of Leamington, Ontario about 45km south of Windsor, Ontario to capture their special day. I picked up our special-guest-shooter for the day, Jana Kendrick, and we were off to capture a love story.

Despite spending my whole life here in Windsor, I’ve never really ventured out into Essex County very much. With the GPS leading the way, we filmed the ladies preparing at home in Leamington, then met with the groom and the men at the Seacliffe Inn. The ceremony was held at St. John The Evangelist and the reception was at the Roma Club. It was my first time to either location. A new venue is always different and interesting to shoot!

The reception was a great time. A live band kept everyone busy on the dancefloor. There was so much happiness and laughter throughout the whole night, and I think the video is a good reflection of that.

Congratulations to Sonia and Steve! We thank you for choosing Perfect Shutter. Hope you love the videos!

Jen & Adam | Windsor Ontario Wedding Film | Teutonia Club Wedding

Jen & Adam | An Amherstburg, Ontario wedding film

Presenting, a beautiful wedding film for Jen and Adam in a town just outside of Windsor, Ontario in Amherstburg. I hadn’t visited Amherstburg in quite some time, so it was a treat to see the town and all its charm all over again.

A bustling downtown area along the shores of the Detroit River just before it emptied into Lake Erie, had so many quaint shops, I wish I had time to walk and stop in each of them! From old fashioned ice cream shops to even a quick sushi restaurant… it had so much charm.

Jen and Adam’s photographer, Stacey Paquette, had some surprises for them for their photo shoot. After the ceremony we were led to the grounds of an old mansion built in the early 1800’s that has since been abandoned. It stood there calm and overlooking the water, once the home of a famous landscape painter and equally as beautiful as the entire day had been for Jen and Adam.

Recently, our bride and groom had yet another occasion to celebrate: after four years of long distance while Adam attended medical school in Missouri, he graduated, and just in time to finally start a wonderful life together with his wife Jen! Congratulations to you two, we are so happy for you.
