When Kathy first approached us about possibly helping her and donating our time for a fundraising photo booth rental to help with the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County’s Face to Face campaign, we jumped at the chance. The Windsor Hospice has been doing such great work in the community for such a long time — we wanted to help in whichever way we could.

From August 16 to August 30th, the Hospice is asking YOU, yes you!! to help canvass for donations for charity. You can ask your friends and family, and this year there is a focus on social media outlets such as Facebook to help get the word out. Make a donation, whichever amount you can, online!

The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County has been helping people through life’s journeys by supporting, educating and empowering those who are affected by or are caring for a person with a life-threatening illness.

Their kickoff party included a BBQ, and it was a blast! There was great food, and even some local celebrities such as Miss Canada Galaxy 2010, Natalie Lapointe, and Jim Crichton from A News – Windsor, stopped in to our photo booth to have their picture taken!

Windsor Ontario Photo booth rental: Toonny and Jeff Ciociaro Club

We’re happy to congratulate Toonny and Jeff on their wedding! We’d been waiting for this weekend for quite some time. Toonny and Jeff were actually one of our first photo booth rental clients way back when we first started. They were SO excited for the photo booth rental when we first met for our consultations. Thank you for choosing us and trusting us in ensuring friends, family, and guests all had fun in the photo booth!

Their Windsor wedding was a two-part affair, with the traditional Thai wedding events held on the Saturday. The wedding reception was held at Ciociaro Club, which once again was THE place to be to celebrate a wedding. From the looks of it, everyone had a blast in the photo booth.

The wedding photographer was Jayme Morrison and she did such a great job capturing the beautiful moments of this Windsor wedding. Check out her site for the pics!

We sat down with Ron Stang and talked a bit about the wedding photo booth rental business in Windsor, Ontario.

“It’s a great idea because everybody wants different today,” said wedding planner Lisa Best of Professional Wedding and Event Planning.

Samson Tse and Herman Chiu started Perfect Shutter last fall. The two had already run a wedding photography business, so the reinvented photo booth was a natural outgrowth.

Typically photo booths, like the kind at the mall, hold just three people. Tse and Chiu’s booth is five by eight feet. “We can fit as many as 15 people,” he said.

The idea behind the booth is for people to gather for fun group shots, often spontaneously and as an alternative to the formal photos taken of bridal parties.

Ah, the weekend of July 3rd…a great time to celebrate Canada Day, Independence Day, and weddings! It was a spectactular weekend filled with Windsor photo booth rentals as we celebrated with two couples!

Natalie and Matthew tied the knot and celebrated with the wedding reception held at the Ciociaro Club.

We were especially excited to party with them as Gabe and Matthew were co-workers previously at the Hiram Walker brewery. Natalie is a great friend of Kara’s sister… so it was almost like a family affair!

The DJ was spinning awesome tunes everyone loved dancing to when they weren’t taking wild and fun pictures in the wedding photo booth.

Alison and Mike were married July 3rd and had their wedding reception at the Fogolar Furlan club. This Windsor photo booth party was as exciting, and joyful as any we’ve seen.

Debbie and Roger, the parents of the bride, were extremely helpful in the entire planning process.

They decided to get adventurous and planned out their own props to bring to the photo booth rental. The end result: all the guests absolutely loved it and had a great time celebrating Alison and Mike’s wedding!

London Ontario Photo Booth | Marisa & Trent Wedding

We love destination weddings for our photo booth rentals! Hehe, okay, so Tillsonburg is a mere 60km away from London, Ontario, but we’re still counting it as a fun destination!

Marisa and Trent were married on June 26, 2010. They had an awesome outdoor ceremony and reception. The reception was held under an enormous tent. Everything just had a great, vibrant, ‘summer’ feel to it today! From the gorgeous weather, to the trickle of the water in the pond, to the fun, bright colours Marisa and Trent used for their theme — it was all so cheerful.

We even had a special guest designer for our photo booth templates — Marisa hand picked her design and colours to match her wedding theme, and it turned out perfect!

Choosing a vendor for your wedding photo booth rental

2010 is really the beginning of the wedding photo booth phenomenon. Photo booths have been around your local shopping malls for the longest of time, but just in the past year more and more couples are opting to have a photo booth rental for their wedding reception.

Along with this new gained popularity, more and more photo booth rental vendors have sprung up too.

We’ve compiled a list of 5 things you should address with the vendor that will help you get the best photo booth rental to fit your needs.

1. Idle time charges.

These can be either help save you money, or end up adding a bit to your final bill. Many companies will offer you idle time for a fee, if you wish to split your photo booth rental time into separate time slots. For instance, if you had a 4 hour wedding photo booth, but wanted it running from 6 to 8pm, then resume at 10 after dinner until midnight, some vendors will allow you to do this while paying for 2 hours of ‘idle time’ which tends to be discounted rate. Other vendors may not offer this option, and ask you to pay their full hourly rate.

Ask the vendor if you could specially request a time for them to come set up the wedding photo booth before the anticipated start time. If you needed the photo booth to be set up several hours before your guests arrive, some vendors may charge you for idle time from the time they finish setting up until the start of the photo booth rental.

2. Template designs.

Will you be able to personalize the look of the template used for your photo booth pictures? Many photo booth vendors may have an in-house graphics designer who will work with you to design the template just as you like it to suit you and your fiance’s personalities. You could ask them to get as creative as possible, or to co-ordinate the colour scheme with your wedding colours of invitations. Other photo booth companies may not have a graphics specialist, so you may be forced to choose between some really basic, cookie-cutter templates for your photo booth rental.

Take a look at some of the previous photo booth rentals they have done before, and see how other templates have looked like in the past!

3. Guaranteed up time.

No matter how thorough your photo booth company may be, electronics are electronics and sometimes they get fussy and stop working for no reason. Most photo booth rental companies will have backup equipment ready in case something happens. They may also have a guarantee up time policy which would guarantee a certain percentage of time that your photo booth will be working properly during the rental. If there is a problem, and the photo booth does not work for an extended period of time, they may refund a certain amount of your package price.

4. Extra digital copies.

This would be useful to ask in case you wanted to have a copy of the photos taken during the photo booth rental. Many photo booth vendors will upload the night’s photos into an online gallery. Ask if you and your guests can download the high resolution version of the photo and if it would be okay for you to re-print or post them in other online sites such as Facebook or Twitter.

5. The design and quality

of the photo booth itself! You may have already attended a previous wedding photo booth event and saw for yourself the vendor’s photo booth in action. If you haven’t, you may want to ask them a few questions about the design, or take a look at the photo booth with your own eyes before putting a deposit down.

The highest quality and most durable booths often will be constructed of light weight, aircraft quality aluminum for the framework. This allows the photo booth to be versatile and light enough to be transported easily to up or down the stairs, through tight hallways. and into your wedding reception venue, It also allows the photo booth to be superior in quality and build. Your wedding reception is going to be a huge party for sure, and you may never really know what goes on inside.

It can get pretty wild in the photo booth. The photo booth must be strong enough to withstand accidental kicks and bumps as people cram in to take their photos.

Other photo booths may be made out of wood, which would not offer the same degree of versatility and durability. It may be more susceptible to damage and the vendor may ask you to pay for those damages, even though it could have been avoided if it was made with a more durable material. They may even have trouble transporting a large wooden photo booth into your venue!

We hope that these 5 tips will help you when you’re trying to decide who to go with for your wedding photo booth!

Congratulations to all the brand spankin’ new nurses of the Class of 2010 from the University of Windsor! After all the years of schooling, studying, reading, taking exams, and the brutal hours in clinicals – this was the party to end all parties as they celebrated graduation!

What a fun night. We were definitely impressed that not only was everyone skilled and talented enough to save lives and take care of the sick, but everyone knew how to celebrate and have a good time in the photo booth!

Someone even donated their ‘stethoscope’ for the props to be used in the photo booth, I guess with your new career underway, it’s time to upgrade to a newer non-plastic stethoscope!
