Samson

Samson is one of the co-founders of Perfect Shutter. He loves editing and when the final edit of a wedding video comes together just as the team had imagined, a truly unique and beautiful video is produced. Samson is also a techie and gear junkie, continually researching and learning to operate new equipment that Perfect Shutter can use to produce even better videography.

He graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Computer Science. His working career provided him several great experiences, from working for MGM Grand Casino to the Windsor Ontario Police Force as a systems programmer. It’s been a long-time dream of his to produce and direct a film or movie. He is self-taught in the craft of photography and videography, and co-designed the photo booth from scratch. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, tinkering with his car, and trying to not get too frustrated on the golf course.

Herman

Herman is one of the co-founders of Perfect Shutter. His favourite part of a wedding day is the photo and video session after the ceremony, when the bride and groom relax and have fun, knowing that they made it. This is often the best time when their true personalities shine and the greatest opportunity for him to help capture some beautiful imagery.

Herman graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. During the day, he is training at a Midwest-teaching hospital to become a future family physician.

He enjoys food, and loves going out to eat and exploring new and different restaurants. One of these days, he will live somewhere warm year-long, by the ocean.

Kara

Kara is our business manager who keeps the gears greased and wheels turning. She graduated with Honours from the University of Windsor in Business Administration. She loves the art of cuisine and is always trying out new, delicious recipes.

John

John is the founder of Rolling Shutter Studio, a wedding videography service established in 2009. In early 2010, Rolling Shutter Studio merged with Perfect Shutter, bringing together the staff, equipment and talent of both teams to better serve the brides and grooms of Southwestern Ontario.

John loves the technical aspects of videography, but his favourite part of the job is when the video is delivered and the couple is able to share it with all their friends on Facebook. “It’s incredibly satisfying seeing all the compliments and positive comments from all the couple’s family and friends,” he says.

John graduated from the University of Windsor with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration. He worked as a financial analyst for seven years, but then turned a photography and videography hobby into a business. His hobby has grown into a passion and he now devotes himself full-time to wedding videography and cinematography.

In his spare time he enjoys traveling, reading anything and everything online, finding cheap and delicious new places to eat, and spending time with his daughter.

Brian

Brian is a university graduate with a great deal of hands-on experience. He has been writing, acting, directing, and producing projects for the past eight years. He began his career working on stage and quickly transitioned into film and video production.

In university he focused his studies toward Advanced Digital Production and never looked back.  Just this past spring, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Drama and Communication while winning the University of Windsor Film Festival “Best Art Direction” Award for his film Dear #6090338 (2009)

His favourite directors include Steven Spielberg and Zack Snyder.

Mary Kate

Mary Kate is one of our photo booth experts. She loves seeing people use the photo booth for the first time, and seeing their reactions as they pick up their photos — “laughing and smiling guaranteed,” she says.

She graduated from the University of Windsor in Kinesiology, and enjoys a match or two of tennis and battling some rapids kayaking in her free time.

Ashley

Ashley is our in-house photographer. Her interests are fashion and alternative photography. She studied photography at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario before traveling and living in Ireland for two years.

Eventually she has found her way back in Canada with her husband. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing RPG video games, and writing poetry.
